Former chairman of Andoni lGA, Orom Nte Ereforokuma, Ani Anthonio Onu and Andrew Aligbe have been inducted into the Woji council of chiefs.
The ceremony which was part of the seven years coronation activities of The Eze woji Eze Emeka Ihunwo took place at the palace of the woji monarch in Woji town.
Orom Nte was conferred with the title of Eze chituru of woji, Ani Anthonio Onu was conferred with Eze Okanya bi of woji while Engr Aligbe bagged Eze Chigozelema of woji.
Paramount ruler of woji community HRH.Eze Emeka Ihunwo charged the awardees to be good ambassadors of woji kingdom,adding that the kingdom does not sell it chieftaincy titles. Ihunwo said it has been the custom of woji to recognize non indigenes living with them, adding that even foreigners have in the past been inducted into the council of chiefs.
He said apart from induction into the council of chiefs scholarship programm and employment opportunities have also been extended to non indigenes in the community.
The Woji monarch urged others to reciprocate same in their communities as no community can be built by only indigenes.
He urged the inducted chiefs to build synergy with the community with the view to fast tracking it development and charged them to take the titles as one of those good fortune of life.
Ihunwo said the palace is opened for their suggestions noting that they must also attend council meetings.
He said the last seven years on the throne was full with challenges, but noted that by the grace of God some of the challenges have been surmounted.
The awardees who spoke to newsmen thanked the woji council of chiefs for the honour, promising to remain law a bidding as well as support the development of the community.
Meanwhile, the Woji council of chiefs has unveiled three sienna cars for the establishment of the woji transport company.
Speaking during a thanksgiving serviceat the st Nicholas Anglican church woji Eze Ihunwo said numerous achievements have been recorded by the palace within the past seven years.
The monarch said God has done so much for the community in the last seven years, Speaking bishop of Evo Diocese Rt. Rev. Innocent ordu commended Woji community for its sense of unity and oneness of purpose. Bishop Ordu urged the community to sustain the feat
Similarly Vicar of St. Nicholas Anglican church Woji, Rev. Canon Kingsley oba Hajianya has called on the people to put their trust in God, as He will not fail them.
The cleric who spoke on the topic “Obtain help from sanctuary” during his sermon said God does not fail those who put their trust in him.
He said the only place one can get help is from God, adding no other powers can give help. The man of God said nobody should go to the occult world to seek for help.
