Wike sets to commission 9th Flying-Over at Rumuepirikom

The Ninth flyover at Rumuepirikom in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State is set to be inaugurated by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

The project which was awarded to the Germany Construction Giant, Julius Berger Construction Company to ease the human and vehicular movement at the popular Pepperoni junction at the cost of 6.6 Billion Naira is the ninth of its kind constructed by the Wike’s administration.

Our correspondent who visited the area to ascertain the level of work done reports that the final touches are been done the painting and marking are ongoing.

The Governor during the award of the flyover on the 5th of May 2021 said the construction of the ninth flyover at Rumuepirikom is necessitated by increasing vehicular activities and addressing the traffic jams at some entry points in Port Harcourt.

According to him, the flyover which will be completed in 12 months at the cost of N6.6billion, would be funded by the deduction of 400Million Naira monthly from the State’s Internally Generated Revenue which was delayed till the moment.
