Wike promises $40,000 to each Rivers united player in CAF Champions league

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezewon Wike has promised the Rivers United Football Club Players a handsome reward of USD 40,000.00 each if they secure victory against Wydad Athletic Club Casablanca.

The Governor, represented by the State Sports Ministry Commissioner, Barr. Chris Green stated that the good people of Rivers State and Nigeria, in general, are solidly in support of the team as they represent the Country in the Continental Championship Competition.

“The Governor has also announced that if you qualify for the group stages of the Champions League, you will receive $40,000.00 each.

“So go out there and compete with dignity, honor, and the traditional Rivers spirit to put smiles on the faces of Rivers people and indeed all Nigerians”.

The Rivers United Football Club will be facing Wydad Athletic Club Casablanca, the Moroccan Champion side in the first leg of their second-round match at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium, Port-Harcourt on Sunday, the 9th of October 2022 at 4 pm.
