Thief burglarized Pastor’s residence at kaani in khana

The pastor’s house in the mission of the Anglican Church in Kebarazor, Kaani 1 was burglarized around 4:00am this morning, and a motorcycle and generator was carted away from the mission.

Sources said it was when the pastor woke up that he discovered that the motorcycle and generator has been purloined by a criminal. The man of God, a noiseless Akwa-Ibom man raised alarm, alerting the neighborhood.

Boys around the area had immediately went about searching for the properties especially as the motorcycle was rolled away leaving trace on the ground since the thief could not break the chain that was padlocked to 5he back wheel of the motorcycle.

They traced the mark to the house of a suspected criminal and lo and behold, the stolen motorcycle was found. Though the criminal was not found in the house.

According to an eyewitness, “the criminal was later found at a bunk and was arrested and taken to a chief’s house for interrogation.

He further stated that at the chief’s house, the thief denied that he could not have carried the motorcycle alone. He alleged that he was on guard in the area around 4am when he saw two persons rolling the motorcycle from the mission. So he then pressed his torchlight on those thieves and dropped the bike down and took to their heels. That was how he claimed, he discovered that the motorcycle belonged to the pastor, that was why he took it to his house. Then he was asked how he was able to carry the bike to his house by himself. Then he answered that God helped him because it was a pastor’s bike.

It was also gathered that the criminal was a motorcycle mechanic, so it was not difficult for him to remove some important parts of the motorcycle such as the carburator and gear selector.
