Team Gokana makes Rivers’ people proud in sport

Gokana Contingency who were selected from the just concluded All Schools Inter-House Sports Competition met with the council chairman Confidence Deko after making Rivers state people proud as they fully represent in the recent Odibola Global Services Mini Marathon Race in collaboration with Rivers state Ministry of Sports.

According to the Special Adviser on youth and sport to the council boss, Austin Awanen, the marathon race which was an international one hosted in Port Harcourt got Gokana Contingency, Nwika Barinua Queen taking 6th position for the girls and Doole Suanu taking 10th positions for the boys leading after their Kenyan counter-path who widely dominated the race that if it were to be a race for Rivers state or Nigerian alone they would have taken the overall best positions.

Deko who keep pushing boundary and challenging the norms was very happy about the victory says his administrations will focus more on human capital development and sports also urges them never to relax that never can tell if they will make it in life with sports that they should always put in their best merging academics with sports.
