The senator representing the South East senatorial district in the National Assembly, Senator Barry Mpigi has about 15 bikes, 20 sewing machines, 1 tricycle (Keke napep), and a set of the transformer as an empowerment package for the people of Khana Local Government Area.
The empowerment package was received by the executive chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Thomas Bariere at the residence of the senator in Tai Local Government in accompanied by the member representing Khana Constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Ngbor.
Receiving the empowerment package, the chairman of the Khana Local Government Area, Thomas Bariere said the senator does not only have the will of the people but has demonstrated his love for the good people of Khana.
N-Press Port-Harcourt reports that the empowerment is now receiving serious criticism from members of the public. They are comparing the empowerment package of the deputy speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly to that of senator Barry Mpigi which many termed “ineffective representation”.
You will recall that senator Barry Mpigi has suspended his empowerment program a few weeks ago due to political exigency.
