According to reports, John Danjuma, a private security guard, killed his former boss on Tuesday at her home in Port Harcourt’s GRA district.
It was learned that Danjuma was previously detained and is currently on trial for allegedly stealing $10,000 from a woman only known as Boma.
Despite his denial of taking the money, he allegedly received bail, and the court was postponed to a later date.
While being questioned by officers at the State Criminal and Investigation Department in Port Harcourt, Danjuma described the misunderstanding he had with the woman in a viral video.
Danjuma made the decision to visit his former boss’ home in the early hours of the morning before the case’s next court hearing, which is scheduled for Friday, May 12, 2023, based on the video our correspondent saw.
He gained access to the property after finding a way inside, destroyed the kitchen protector to gain entry to the main structure, and then hid there to perfect his evil intent.
The security guy then proceeded to his former employer, whom he discovered in one of the rooms, and killed her. He did this after waiting until it started to rain.
He committed the deed and left the victim lying on the ground in a pool of blood while he stole a few pieces of her jewellery.
However, he was unsuccessful in his attempt to flee when neighbours noticed blood spots all over his body and approached him, raising the alarm.
According to what our source learned, the event caused a tumultuous situation that resulted in his arrest.
Danjuma confessed to the act while being questioned by the agents, saying the woman was suing him in court for allegedly stealing her money—roughly $10,000—after accusing him of doing so.
“Me and she are fighting, and this woman is suing me in court, and our case is the next one up tomorrow (Friday),” he stated.
They allege that I stole $10,000. But I didn’t take the cash.
At this time, as shown in the clip, one of the operatives intervened, asking, “Court gave you bail, is that not?
Why would you return to her house so early in the morning to murder her when you know you did not steal the money? So, you killed her, then?
In response, Danjuma said, “Yes, she is dead. I did kill the woman. I won’t lie; she is deceased.
When reached, Grace Iringe-Koko, a spokeswoman for the State Police Command, confirmed the event and Danjuma’s arrest.
Police Superintendent Iringe-Koko added that the case was still under investigation.
“Yes, the incidence is known to the command. Having been detained, the suspect has now been turned over to the state criminal and Investigation Department,” she stated.
