Rivers state transport company under Wike administration

Transportation is one of the most lucrative sectors of the economy of every state. It entails the movement of persons, goods, and other essential products from one geographical location to the other.

The Rivers state government under the administration of Right Honourable Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi provided a conducive atmosphere for businesses to thrive, including the Rivers State Transport Company (RTC).

N-Press Port-Harcourt visited the site of RTC to ascertain the report from some quarters that the state government under Nyesom Ezewon Wike has abandoned the company since he assumed office on the 29th of May 2015.

Speaking during the visit to RTC, a former worker of the company who don’t want his name mentioned told N-Press Port-Harcourt that most of the workers have relocated to their villages while other have died because of the untold hardship brought by the government of Wike.

He said instead of Wike’s government to create employment opportunities for the people, he will kill the ones that others created.

He said the only jobs created by this administration is flyover that doesn’t have any direct bearing on the lives of Rivers people.

The former Rivers State Transport Company was used as a toilet for those who can’t afford public toilets in the area.
