As part of efforts in reaching out to flood victims in IDP camps in Rivers State, the State Government Flood Management Taskforce has handed over more trucks of relief materials to four Local Government Chairmen in the affected communities for onward distribution to victims in their communities.
The chairman of the Taskforce Committee, George Nwaeke while handling the trucks to them in Port Harcourt told journalists that the relief is in continuation of alleviating the sufferings of the flood victims.
The loaded trucks are meant for flood victims in IDP camps in Ahoada West, Ahoada East, Ogba Egbema Ndoni, and Obual Odual Local Government Areas of the State.
The Chairman of the Committee, George Nwaeke told newsmen that the State Government will not relent on its oares in ensuring that the flood victims to some extent are comfortable in these trying times., especially in the area of foodstuffs, and healthcare service among others.
The Local Government Chairmen while expressing their gratitude to the State Government efforts in alleviating the sufferings of the flood victims promised to personally take the palliatives to the people.
You will recall that the task force team had earlier given assurance that it will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that those in IDP camps were not allowed to go hungry, this is a pointer to that fact.
