Rivers Gov. commended over ICT innovation at judiciary

Legal Practitioners in the State have commended the Rivers State Government for providing ICT for effective and speedy Judicial Services in the State.

A Legal Practitioner and former Chairman National Copyright Commission and current Director of the National Legislative Institute Abuja, Dr. Clinton Jaja made the remarks while presenting a paper on the topic, “How to Use ICT for Legal Research,” during a workshop for Magistrates held in Port Harcourt recently.

Dr. Jaja hinted that efforts have begun by the State Government to institutionalize ICT in the State Judiciary beginning with the State Customary Courts.

According to him the first phase of implementation has started with the training of Staff and setting up of a Digital Library which makes it easy for Judges and Judicial Officers to deliver on their duties.

The Legal Researcher pointed out that after the trial period, the tool will be adopted across the board.
