Rivers CAN holds peace prayers ahead of polls

The Rivers Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has held a Peace Prayer Session ahead of the February 25th and March 11th general elections.

The Prayer Session, which was held in Port Harcourt, Rivers Capital, South-South Nigeria, saw Christian Leaders pray for the Electoral Umpire, Security Operatives, and those seeking Political Positions to be faithful in discharging their various civic duties.

Members of the State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria prayed for God’s touch on the hearts of the various election Stakeholders to be upright and just in the discharge of their statutory duties without fear or favor toward a smooth transition.

The one-day fasting and prayer summit with the theme: ‘Rebuilding the Broken Walls’, had Christian Clerics enlightening their members on the need for the conduct of credible and transparent polls for the emergence of God-fearing leaders.

One of the candidates present at the peace prayers told Newsmen that he was confident that the forthcoming polls will be hitch-free.

The Christian Clerics called on all Churches to unite as a body of Christ to rebuild the Nation for all to peacefully co-exist.
