Price of good inflates due to subsidy

The prices of goods has tremendously increased due to subsidy. The sudden increase in disel has greatly affected the price of petrol which has now hit the local markets.

Goods/products like Rice, yam, tomatoes, onions, potatoes etc has doubled it’s respective prices due to high cost of transportation.

Speaking with some of the retailers, our correspondent gathered that major food stuffs has skyrocketed within the past 1 week.

The retailers confirmed that a little bag of pepper which was #10,000 is now currently sold at #17,000 and with such a price, little or no profit will be made if sold at a lower rate.

They further went ahead to talk about the huge losses they make on a daily (for perishable goods) because costumers are unwilling to buy at such high cost.

However, the crisis between Federal government and the Nigerian Labour Congress(NLC) remains unresolved till now.

Meanwhile NLC are yet to agree and conclude on a date for their Nationwide protest.
