President Mohammadu Buhari has flagged off the construction of three important projects in Ogoni land, namely, the Centre of Excellence for environmental restoration, the Ogoni power project, and a specialist hospital.
President Buhari during the groundbreaking ceremony in Wiiyakara in Khana LGA, said the project will bring Sustainable livelihood and socio-economic development to Ogoni and the neighbouring states in the Niger Delta region.
That was the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of very important projects in Ogoni land.
President Muhammadu Buhari during his speech said the Centre of Excellence is a vital initiative that seeks to provide training courses in environmental monitoring and restoration and enhance the capacity and skills of the Ogoni community and neighbouring states in the Niger Delta region.
The minister of Environment Mohammed Abdullahi and the hyprep coordinator Ferdinand Giadom noted that the construction of the projects will address the age-long agitations of the people of the Niger Delta, address their plight, and bring succour to the region
The people of Ogoni commended President Mohammadu Buhari for his kindness and commitment to the call of bettering the life of the Ogoni people and the restoration of the environment
While appealing to the Ogonis to co-operate with the companies and hyprep, the President assured the people that the projects will be completed in due time.
The Centre of excellence is a vital initiative that seeks to provide training courses in environmental monitoring and restoration, enhance the capacity and skills of the Ogoni community, create employment opportunities, promote learning both within the region and beyond
The minister of environment Mohammed Abdullahi and the hyprep coordinator Ferdinand Giadom noted that the construction of these three projects it will address the age long agitation for the people of Ogoni as ware bring soccour to the region.
While appealing to the Ogonis to co-operate with hyprep and the companies, The president assured the people of the Niger Delta region that the projects will be completed in due time.
