Petro tanker kills 17-year-old girl at Obirikwere flyover in Port Harcourt

A tanker conveying petroleum products fell on Obirikwere flyover, East/West road in Port Harcourt on Friday, emptied its content and killed a 17-year-old girl.

Eyewitness report had that the incident happened at 12 noon yesterday, thereby causing heavy traffic as motorists diverted to use other routes.

It was reported that the young girl was trying alight from a tricycle for fear of the truck by unfortunately died in the process. The young was says to have come from a center where she was writing JAMB before the incident happened.

Our correspondent reported the corpse was there for about three hours after the incident occured and was later taken to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital by the police. As at the time of filing this report, the driver has be arrested and he’s been question at the Rumuokoro divisional police station.

Meanwhile, our correspondent gathered that, the driver has accused the girl of trying to steal petroleum products but died on the process Claims many have debunked and blamed the driver for trying to justified his careless driving.
