The Governorship Candidate of SDP in Rivers State, Senator Magnus Abe has reiterated his commitment to ending cultism and other criminal activities as well as improving health delivery to the Rivers people if elected as Governor.
He committed his goodwill message at the 30th anniversary of the Ogoni Day Celebration in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Ogoni Day celebration on the 4th of January each year was initiated by the Movement of Ogoni People to bring the struggle of the indigenous people of Ogoni and their rights to the front burner.
The Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, who was among the dignitaries that graced this year’s celebration in Bori, also visited the ancestral home of the late Environmental Rights Activist Ken Saro-Wiwa in Eweh Bame and the memorial peace park.
So sure of where the pendulum will swing at the polls, Senator Abe promised to review the anti-cultism law for the benefit of Rivers People.
According to the SDP Governorship Candidate, the provision of social amenities for the people will be tackled head-on, just as he urged the Ogoni people to be united.
The Governorship Candidate of the APC and other chieftains of the party were also in Bori for the Ogoni Day celebration.
Meanwhile, some yet-to-be-identified hoodlums, reportedly vandalized the SDP Secretariat in Eleme while the Ogoni day anniversary was ongoing.
