NPFL to kickstart Jan 8 as Nasarawa UTD welcome Enyimba to group A

All is set for the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League, (NPFL), with Nasarawa UTD drawing Enyimba International FC in the group A abridge league encounter.

Following the draws on Wednesday in Abuja by the Interim Management Committee, the abridge league will commence on January 8, 2023.

However, in group A, Akwa UTD will also welcome newly promoted Bendel Insurance to Nest of Kings Stadium, Uyo, Shooting Stars will travel to Jos to keep a date with Plateau United, Kwara UTD will play host to Gombe United and Remo Stars will also welcome El-Kanemi Warriors.

In Group B, Bayelsa United will clash with Dakada in a South-South derby, Wikki Tourists will square up against Niger Tornadoes, newly promoted Doma Utd will also welcome, While Sunshine Stars Rivers Utd will play host to Lobi Stars and Abia Warriors will cross over to Enugu for a South East derby with Enugu Rangers.

However, the Super Six will decide the Winner, as the Top Three Teams from each Group would square up to decide the Winner.

The Chairman of IMC, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye disclosed that the Winners of the League will go home with 100 Million Naira.

While every Club in the NPFL will get 10 Million Naira each before the League Commencement.

He also assured that Referees’ indemnities and salaries would be paid directly into their accounts by Sponsors.
