Nigerian Navy assures commitment to personnel physical fitness

The Nigerian Navy says it remains committed to ensuring the physical fitness of its personnel, especially in the face of emerging security threats.

The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu stated this during the commissioning of a Multi-purpose Sports Complex at the Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS, Pathfinder, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital.

The physical fitness of men and officers of the Nigerian Navy is key to the fight against crime and criminality hence the need to invest in sports development. According to the Flag Officer, “this sports facility will further boost the outstanding performance of the Command during the Nigerian Navy games.

The Naval Chief insisted that training personnel will enhance their proficiency in combating crime and criminality.

Rear Admiral Dewu also commissioned the remodeled NNS Pathfinder Rivers Hall as well as inspected the NNS Pathfinder Boat that was given a facelift.
