After a successful election on Saturday 27/08/2022 to elect new executive members, the Nigeria Computer Society, Rivers State chapter has inaugurated her new EXCO.
The inauguration which was held at the Rivers State University saw to an end the Interim executive led by Mr. Innocent and ushered in a brand new executive with the elections and inauguration of Dr. Legborsi Emmanuel as the new and first executive chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society(NCS), Rivers State chapter.
The handover ceremony held at the Computer Science department at Rivers State University birthed a new beginning of the Society.
The new chairman of the NCS Rivers State chapter, Dr. Legborsi Emmanuel said in his inaugural speech that the society will implement national programs in the state chapter.
He also said that the manifestos of all new executives will be turned into responsibilities with membership drive as the first task.
Speaking on the issue of cybercrime, the new chairman tasked media houses to take that responsibility. He stressed the need for individuals, organizations, and the governments to hire and seek the advice of professionals in order to reduce cybercrime.
