NDDC/ESI empowers 200 persons through agency banking

The Niger Delta development commission NDDC, says the agency will key into the federal government’s poverty reduction policy to take more Niger Deltans out of poverty.

The acting managing director of the NDDC, Emmanuel Audu stated this during the seventh graduation ceremony of the NDDC/ empowerment support initiative (ESI) entrepreneurial development scheme in port Harcourt.

This is the seventh edition of the NDDC/ESI entrepreneurial Development scheme to empower the people of the Niger Delta region.

Acting managing director of the NDDC, Emmanuel Audu, while reaffirming the commission’s resolve to sustain the collaboration with ESI, said the entrepreneurial Development scheme was part of President Mohammed Buhari’s pledge to take more Nigerians out of poverty.

The founder of ESI, Judith Amaechi who was represented by job west said the beneficiary was trained in agency banking popularly known as POS operator

Some of the two hundred beneficiaries say the training is a stepping stone to self-reliance. The highlight of the event is the presentation of starter packs to the beneficiaries.
