NDDC holds EIA/HSE interception with consultants

NDDC Head quarter in Port-Harcourt Rivers state

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC says it will incorporate Environmental Impact Assessment, EIA, as well as Health, Safety, and Environment, HSE, in project implementation.

Director, Environmental Protection and Control, NDDC Kevin Uwakwe, stated this during an Open Forum in Port Harcourt between members of the commission’s directorate and environmental consultants

Uwakwe who was represented by his Deputy Director, Onoriode Omo-Udoyo, said the environment and the well-being of the people of the Niger Delta region were important to project execution.

Other speakers wanted the EPC/HSE consultants to come up with templates for the monitoring of projects under their supervision.

They say such timelines will reduce agitations from most benefiting communities following environmental challenges experienced after project execution.
