NANS says students are ready to be shot to end strike

The president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has said that the students are ready to be shot if that will bring to an end the lingering ASUU strike.

The president, Sunday Asefon said this while appearing as a guest program on channels television program called “Sunrise Daily”, monitored by our correspondent, Emmanuel Tambari, that the union is prepared to hit the streets on a protest.

According to him, “the union is prepared to hit the streets on a protest Tagged ‘University of the streets’ established months ago on the streets of Abuja in continuation of the academic staff Union of University”.

He stressed that the government is not interested in the future of the students, rather they interest and focus is on 2023 elections.

He said the ongoing protest in Benin City yesterday is a signal given by the students community. And if the government fail to listen to the pleas of the students, they will disrupt the ward and state Congresses of parties as a way of calling the attention of the government.
