Monarch blesses Oji Ngofa as community mark traditional festival

The APC, Senatorial Candidate for Rivers south east senatorial District in the February 25th general election, Orji Ngofa on Monday was at Nyokuru Community in Khana LGA of Rivers as special Honour for the DUM KII SI Community Annual Festival.

The Senatorial Candidate was received by the Paramount Ruler of the Community, HRH. Mene Jackson Abikor along with other members of the Community Council of Chiefs and Elders.

Welcoming the former Nigerian Ambassador to the Royal Kingdom of the Netherlands and former Eleme LGA Council Boss, the Paramount Ruler expressed his gratitude that despite his busy schedule with campaign activities, the Senatorial candidate was able to find time and identify with the people of Nyokuru Community during this festive season.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Media directorate of the Orji Ngofa Campaign Council, the Monarch also gave his Royal blessing to the APC Senatorial candidate, Orji Ngofa, and, wished him well in the upcoming general election.

The former Nigerian Ambassador was also decorated traditionally and awarded traditional items as a symbol of his acceptance into the Community and a mark of their identification with him as rations to represent the people of Rivers’ southeast senatorial District in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly.

Responding to the gesture by the Community, Ambassador Orji Ngofa expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Chiefs and people of Nyokuru Community for the warm reception and the traditional honour bestowed upon him and urged them to continue to remain peaceful and law law-abiding as they celebrate the season.

Chief Ngofa used the occasion to canvass support for his Senatorial aspirations and called on the people to vote all for APC candidates in the upcoming general election.

“If I am elected as Senator, I will collaborate with the people of Nyokuru Community to foster development of this Community.

APC Government is implementing the UNEP report on Ogoni land and will do more if elected, so vote all for APC candidates during the upcoming general election”.

Ambassador Orji Ngofa was accompanied on the visit by Dr. Lebura Ikoma Director General of the Orji Ngofa Campaign Council, some members of the Senatorial Campaign Team, Stakeholders of APC in Khana LGA, and, some members of the State Executive Council of the  Party.
