The minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika has commended the collaborative efforts of government agencies operating at the Port Harcourt International Airport in offering professional services to individuals and companies using the latest technologies.
The minister was speaking at an event at the Airport for the inauguration of the Aircraft monitoring office complex, Data collection room, and vehicles for payment of landing fees compliances aimed at increasing Aircraft landing revenue for the Federal Government.
The minister of Aviation who was represented by the Director of Human Resources, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN, Norris Anozie delivered a speech commending the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, FAAN, NEABI Dynamic system, and ancillary agencies at the Airport for the realisation of the project which will ease revenue collection.
Representatives of NAMA, FAAN, and the concessionaire NEABI reiterated their commitment to the project. The Minister commissioned the monitoring building housing the data collection room and vehicles for field officers.
Over two hundred Helicopters Monitoring Officers, and HMOs were commissioned and given a mandate. Some of them spoke about their new jobs.
The Federal Government has mandated NAMA through the instrumentality of the law to work with relevant agencies and concessionaires to mitigate revenue loss through uncoordinated aircraft landings in Nigeria.
