Man escapes death after container fell on his car in Port Harcourt

Tragedy was on Tuesday averted after a container fell on a moving SUV around Laritel Mbuogba NTA road in Obio Akpor local government area portHarcourt in Rivers State.

According to eyes witness, trailer which carried container that contained tomato which breakdown there since Sunday, Dec. 4, 2021. afternoon were pack along the road until Tuesday afternoon, when the owner and the driver came with Rivers State taskforce on illegal motor park and street trading to toll the container to another trailer, while there was slow movement of vehicle to ease traffic along the road.

On the process the container which was loaded with tomato felled from the crane hoist rope and landed on a moving SUV saloon car that was passing, with only the driver in it. And immediately, the taskforce, the crane operator and people around swing into action to rescue the driver from the SUV, on noticing that he was alive which they did, but it take hours to lift the container off the SUV to save the driver which came out without wound. Though some said his only had little scratch on his head which lead those who witness the incident to jubilate with him and praising God for his miracle and mercy. However, the driver was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

It is also said that some passersby looted some cartons of tomatoes that were brought out from the container. However, the container, the truck are still there along the road side of the incident which has not ease free flow of traffic this morning
