Khana first female to participate in African track cycling Championship

Thomas Bariere, Treasure Coxson and Joseph Yobo

Joy knew no bound in Khana of Ogoni yesterday as one of their daughter, Miss Treasure Coxson, an athlete, who hails from Baen community in Khana Local Government Area, participated and came out 2nd in the just concluded African Female Track Cycling Championship held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

The Chairman of Khana Local Government Council made this clear at his Port Harcourt residence in an interaction with the female athlete in the presence of Joseph Yobo, the former Super Eagle’s Captain/Assistant Coach.

Dr. Bariere in his speech while eulogizing the young female athlete, stated that Miss Treasure not only come out 2nd, with a Silver Medal but has also been the first female from Khana extraction to participate in the African Female Track Cycling Championship.

The Executive Chairman had expressed his immense joy and the Council’s readiness to host Miss Treasure Coxson.

Finally, Dr. Thomas redeclared that his administration will never relent from supporting young talented breeds from Khana.
