The heavy rain experienced in the city of Port Harcourt on Easter Monday has caused a total blackout in some part of the city following the collapse of electric pole with high-tensions.
Eyewitness report has it that the collapse of the pole occurred during rainfall associated with heavy wind. This happened on Agudama Street in D-line and residents of the area are calling on the attention of the Rivers State Government and Port-Harcourt branch of the PHED to swing into action before they are all electrocuted.
According to him; “since the heavy downpour experienced on Monday, the Rivers State ministry of power, Power Holding Company of Nigeria and other relevant authorities are yet to rectify and fix the collapsed polls. We are threatened by this because we don’t know the danger and effect of this”
One Mr. Moses who is a resident of the area said they’ve reached out to some workers of the PHED and he believed something urgent will be done about the situation in less than no time.
