Luck smiled on the faces of over 1,390 undergraduate students of the Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State as the Council Chairman begins the payment of the Bursary to the students in higher institutions from the area.
According to the report, 1,390 students were paid the sum of fifty thousand naira ( #50,000) while about ten pursuing Master’s Degrees get three hundred thousand nairas (300,000) each, and Ph.D. students were given five hundred thousand naira grants (#500,000).
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the chairman said the educational support grant is to cushion the effect of the economy on education.
You will recall that the chairman had promised students leadership of Eleme extraction of Bursary payment which has been fulfilled.
