Following the one-day power outage as a result of the industrial action embarked upon by the National Union of electricity employees, small business owners in Port Harcourt have decried the negative impacts on their businesses.
Those who spoke to Npress Port Harcourt wondered why the government always waited until unions in the country embarked on strikes before they will attend, noting that it does not portray the government as having the welfare of its citizens at heart.
Businesses and electricity power consumers are still lamenting the impacts of the power outage that threw the nation into darkness on Wednesday as a result of the industrial action embarked upon by electricity workers, which lasted for almost one day, leading to the total shutdown of the national power grid.
Some small-scale business owners in Port Harcourt, who spoke to our correspondent lamented the impacts as they wondered why the government always waited until the last minutes to address industrial related grievances.
They appealed to the government to resolve the issues with electricity workers to avert losing their businesses.
