The Edo state police command has arrested one Ahmed Ibrahim for allegedly stealing three television sets from three hotel rooms at Ekpoma, Esan West local government area of Edo state.
In a statement released by the deputy public relations officer of the command Jennifer Iwegbu, the manager of Mindcast hotel Ekpoma reported the incident of theft to police after the said Ahmed Ibrahim checked out of the three rooms he booked unnoticed with his luggage.
It was shortly afterwards that the management of the hotel noticed that the three Television sets in the three rooms he booked were what the Suspect packaged in his luggage when checking out.
It was however through discreet investigation and intelligence gathering by Police Operatives, that the suspect was traced to Hausa cattle market, Ekpoma where he was arrested.
During his arrest, it was discovered that the Suspect had neatly packed the plasma television sets in readiness to take them to Abuja for sale.
He confessed to have stolen the three plasma television sets and also six other plasma televison Sets from two separate locations, one, at Beverly Hills hotel, Ekpoma Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State and the other three from a hotel situated at Mazamaza area of Lagos state.
While effort was being made to charge the suspect to court, the commissioner of police Abutu Yaro used the opportunity to assure the people continuous protection and called for the public to avail the command useful information that will help put criminals out of action.
