The community Secondary school Kaani is said to be the first Community Secondary school in Ogoni and Rivers State in general.
It was built and handed over to the government in the 70s. The secondary school has given birth to politicians, technocrats, captains of industry just mentioned but a few.
Going from the increasing reports of the dilapidated nature of the school, our correspondent who visited the school gathered that the environment was not conducive for learning.
He said the students sit on the floor to learn as the building that housed the secondary section was without windows, doors and roof.
Speaking to a Youth leader in the community, he said since the school was built in the 70s with communal efforts, the school has not received any facelift from the government.
He said students sit on the floor to learn, a building without roof, a condition that is unsuitable for learning.
He said the community has written severally to Rivers State Government but nothing has been done about the situation.
