The nefarious activities of criminal gang, secret murderers and cultists are going out of hand in Kaani community in Khana LGA of Rivers State. Recently, two persons had been secretly murdered, girls are raped, bikes stolen, and breaking into people’s houses at night with guns and other lethal weapons is becoming the order of the day.
It’s a pathetic situation that by 7:30pm, once a lively and joyriding community has turned to a ghost town. Fear of the unknown has made the people to end all business activities by 6:00pm.
The residents of Kebarazor and Wiizor where there is a palm fruits plantation are the most victims of the night marauders and raiders. At about 2:00am on Tuesday July 11, 2022, some houses within the region, especially that of a
laundry man was attacked, phones and money were stolen, the children mercilessly beaten.
Then at about 11pm of the same day(Tuesday night), the house of a mobile phone and computer engineer as well as POS operator suffered great losses at the hardened hands of these hooligans as they raised his house and went away with laptops, phones, POS machines, money and other valuables.
The bandits used AK-47 and other lethal weapons to succumbed the local security personnels before the operation. Because of these villainous activities and attack, some people have started relocating to Bori and other places for their safety. The community is tensed.
Prior to this, on Sunday 10th July, 2022, the LGA Chairman came with some army officers in respect of a kidnapping against some lads in the community. Since then, army, anti-cultism officers and police are patrolling the community. This has added grief to the pain of the masses.
It was gathered that whenever the security personnels had patrolled round and left, these hooligans would invade and start their villainous attacked. The people are calling on government and other organizations to come to their aid.
