Court dismiss PDP suits against Accord, APC candidates in Rivers

An Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt has dismissed PDP appeals against the APC and Accord Party Candidates in Rivers.

This followed the withdrawal of all appeals filed against the APC and the Accord party candidates in Rivers, by the National leadership of the PDP.

Recall that the National leadership of the PDP on Monday took over all cases filed by the State PDP against the APC and the Accord party candidates in Rivers State at the Appeal court.

When the matter was mentioned in Court on Friday for hearing, Counsel to Accord Party, Abdulhahi Mohammed, SAN, told the court that he has received an application from the PDP for the withdrawal of the Appeal, which was confirmed by the State Legal Adviser of the PDP, Kingsley Chukwu.

The Accord party lawyer, Abdullahi Mohammed thereafter prayed to the court to dismiss the case.

The three-man panel of the appellate justices, led by Justice Joseph Ikyegh granted the prayer and dismissed the PDP appeal against the judgment of a Federal High Court presided over by Justice Daylop Pam which struck out a suit instituted by the PDP against the Candidacy of the Accord party and APC candidates in Rivers.
