Community members protest over kidnapped of former NBA president in Rivers

Following the abduction of the former president of the Nigerian Bar Association NBA Okey Wali, Women, and youth groups from Rumualogu in the Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers have cried out to relevant authorities to wade in and secure his release.

The protest which started in his hometown Rumualogu moved to other neighboring communities with the protesters carrying placards with different inscriptions

It has been eleven days since the abduction of the Rivers State-born lawyer, Senior Advocate Of Nigeria SAN Okey Wali, who served as the twenty-sixth president of the Nigerian Bar Association NBA and has also served in other capacities in various committees.

Speaking to journalists in the course of the protest, the chairman of the Community Development Committee CDC of the Rumualogu community Gift Nwaru pleaded with his abductors to release him unconditionally.

On their part, the women of the community while highlighting the role and impact of Okey Wali in their community, called on all relevant authorities to assist them in securing the release of their son.

You will recall that the incident which occurred on the nineteenth of April along the East-West road axis of Port Harcourt recorded two casualties on the spot while others sustained various degrees of injuries.
