The ancient city of Bua Kaani Community in Khana Local Government has celebrated her Nuwaloo grand finale today.
Nuwaloo is celebrated annually like the new yam Festival of the Igbos. Although it’s not out of place if one decides to call it a new yam Festival.
The celebration is to mark the beginning of new harvest of crops like yam, vegetable leaf, okro, three leaf yam and other produce of the new farming season.
Our correspondent who visited the community said young men and women including the old folks were seen celebrating whilst the masquerade chase them and so on.
The play said to be the forefathers and it’s celebrated before members of the community are allowed to eat new produces of the farm as a way of honouring the forbearers of the community. It is played four days or one week. It signifies the return of peace and prosperity to the land of Bua Kaani.
