Another set of landmarking people-oriented projects has been executed in Bonny Local Government Area in Rivers State by the Council Chairman, Anengi Barasua even as she commissioned seven other projects last week to commemorate her first anniversary in office.
Among the new projects was the procurement of four free school coastal buses for the transportation of primary and secondary school students to and from school each day.
The people of Bonny say, Anengi Barasua, truly represented the Biblical injunction that says, “When the righteous rules, the people rejoice.”
In keeping with the social contract of delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Bonny, and making life more meaningful for them, the Chairman, Anengi Barasua, purchased four coastal buses for primary and secondary students to commute free of charge.
Built the Bonny recruitment center BIRC for employment, laid the foundation block for a mini estate for Council workers, and procured three eighteen seater buses for her political aides,
After she had already commissioned seven projects last week which was also reported in this medium.
In the euphoria of the commissioning ceremony, Bonny’s rich cultural heritage was showcased to entertain guests.
The Vice Chairman chairman of the LGA Omoni Long John outlined the achievements of his boss saying that Barasua’s administration was fast meeting up the yearnings of the Bonny people.
Giving a breakdown of the projects, the chairman emphasized that her dream was to see that every Bonny person lived a quality life.
The political leader of Bonny Rufus Long John said, the chairman did not disappoint him and the people, while the Rivers state PDP Secretary, Tamunoemi Brown who represented the Chairman Desmond Akawor, and the Commissioner for Education Chinedu Nmom who commissioned the projects said the party was happy with her performance and described as an achiever.
At the Bonny Saint Franchise Cathedral Church, the chairman, and her Executive returned thanks and praises to God Almighty for what He was doing during her administration.
With the outstanding performance of the Bonny LGA chairman, within the time frame of one year in office, one would say she has lived up to the adage that says “what a man can do, a woman can do it better.”
