Bayelsa State Government says it will partner with the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, to ensure skill acquisition programmes for corps members are more gainful.
Speaking during the passing out parade of the Batch B stream-1 corps members at the Peace Park in Yenagoa, the state Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo assured that the state will continue to prioritize the welfare of corps members deployed to the state.
The passing out ceremony was characterized with the usual colorful displays. The Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ehwrudjakpo declares the Batch B stream-1 service year closed.
He urged the outgoing corp members to be good emissaries of the state, pledging the government’s resolve to making the compulsory service year worthwhile for those posted to the state.
Amidst growing unemployment rate in the country, the corps members say they are leaving the NYSC better equipped with different skills to enable them earn a living. About one thousand corps members took part at the just concluded 2021 NYSC Batch B stream-1 practice in Bayelsa State.
