The Niger Delta development commission NDDC has expressed hope that the rehabilitation work on three failed sections between Ahoada and Patani will be delivered as scheduled.
The acting managing director of the NDDC, Emmanuel Audu stated this during an inspection tour on the road.
This is the second time the acting managing director of the NDDC Emmanuel Audu, will be visiting the three failed spots within the Ahoada and Patani section of the East-west road since NDDC began rehabilitation work about two weeks ago.
The visit has also given the acting managing director of the NDDC opportunity to access the progress of work done so far, for the affected areas that were completely devastated by the flood, including the shoulders.
Acknowledging the importance of the road, Audu urged the contractor to ensure that the affected areas are put in proper shape.
For now, motorists and commuters are no longer experiencing loss of man-hours, but making the Ihuike, Okobe, and Patani axis of the east-west road smooth and motorable is the ultimate target of the NDDC
