In appreciation of hard work and commitment towards community development, the people of Abalama in the Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers have organized a civic reception in honor of their son and Rivers Commissioner for Works Alabo George Kelly whom they described as a worthy ambassador of Abalama and Kalabari ethnic nationality.
Gathered at the reception included traditional rulers, opinion leaders, captains of industry, and political leaders who have come from far and near to celebrate a man who has distinguished himself in community and public service which has endeared him to all and sundry.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman, of Rivers Elders Council, Ferdinand Anabraba who represented the State Governor Nyesom Wike, described Alabo George Kelly as a blessing to the people of Abalama and Kalabari land by extension
Others say he is a man whose legacies are worthy of emulation hence the need for honor and recognition.
George kelly while speaking shortly after he was bestowed with the title Amaibi Dokubo of Abalama thanked the traditional institution and his people for the honor and pledged to sustain his good works in the interest of humanity.
